Internship

So I got an internship about 3 weeks ago and its been amazing. The place I intern at is called Brain4est. We do animatics for commercials which are pretty much rough drafts of the final commercial and are used as blueprints for the final product. The first 2 weeks they had me watch tutorials about Adobe After Effects which is really confusing but has a lot of capability. Now we are working on a project called "Tooth and Claw" which is a comic concept by Mark Pacella. From what I understand its about 2 narcotics officers who get framed and start using drugs and somehow get turned into "other-dimensional" creatures that fight crime (I guess they deal with moral issues too or something). Aside from the bizarre plot, its drawn incredibly well and it is now due to be presented to Disney (now that Marvel Comics is theirs). That's right, some guys at Disney are gonna see about 2 or 3 seconds of my work during the pitch and go "Wow, that's what we're all about!"
So where do I fit in? I take frames from the comic and take out the text boxes (as seen in the b4 and after pics above) and prepare them for animation. I do this all in Photoshop. So pretty much its filling in the gaps and preparing the pictures. This may sound dull but to me its a lot of fun to do and be a part of. I finally feel like I'm being productive and am going somewhere in life. I asked myself how I got here. By chance I just found the ad in our school's job listings (its unpaid) and sent them an email. I know that later in life it won't be so easy so from now on I'm just gonna keep my eyes open for any and every opportunity. I've pretty much decided I want to do animation or something related to it. That is, if some Chinese guy or Indian guy doesn't get the job first(seriously though, its a problem). I'll tell you more about my internship later. For now, here's a doodle from my "Old Testament Writings" Religion class. My hope is to eventually have a hundred of my (notable) doodles up here from past years. They may look like crap but I'm damn proud of them!
